π₯ "Music is my fire, and I’m just getting started." – GrandFire (Victor Phiri)
Every great artist has a story—a journey of passion, struggle, and triumph. For Victor Phiri, better known by his stage name GrandFire, that journey began in Balaka District in 2018, when he was just 16 years old. What started as a humble beginning, recording alongside his brother Shambuoi (who he admits was better than him at the time), has now evolved into a promising musical career in Zomba, under the mentorship of Sir El-Phi.
The Early Days: Learning from the Best
GrandFire’s musical roots trace back to Balaka, where he first discovered his love for music. Working with his brother Shambuoi, he honed his skills, learning the ropes of recording, writing, and performing. Though he felt overshadowed at first, that fire inside him kept burning—pushing him to grow, improve, and chase his dreams.
The Zomba Breakthrough: Working with Sir El-Phi
The real turning point came when GrandFire moved to Zomba, a city known for nurturing Malawi’s musical talent. There, he connected with Sir El-Phi, a respected producer at El-Phi Multimedia Recording Studio. Under his guidance, GrandFire recorded three powerful tracks that showcase his growth as an artist:
π΅ 1. "Jehovah" – A spiritual anthem, blending faith and melody.
π΅ 2. "Ouy" – A track that highlights his lyrical depth and unique flow.
π΅ 3. "Manjenje" – A banger that proves GrandFire is here to make waves.
Each song reflects his evolution—from a young boy experimenting with music to an artist with a vision.
The Future is Bright
GrandFire’s journey is a testament to hard work, persistence, and believing in yourself. He may have started as the "little brother" in the studio, but today, he’s carving his own path under URARARE RECORDS, ready to take Malawi’s music scene by storm.
π₯ What’s next for GrandFire? More music, more growth, and more fire.
Follow his journey! Stay tuned for new releases and witness the rise of a star.
